JazzyStuff.com - New Orleans and Gulf Coast Artists

Richard Lewis, took an interest in art at a very early age. When given his first coloring book, he took the black crayon and added more
shapes to color. From then on, Christmas and birthday gifts were usually art supplies. Later as an Art major, he taught art. "Various styles such as Impressionism and Surrealism are among some of my favorite painting expressions." The particular style you see before you is what he calls Caribbean Primitive/Pop. "I attempt to convey the music in the air, party atmosphere and bright colors of old New Orleans. My technique is sort of a dash of Van Gogh and Matisse added to a bit of Lichtenstein and Haring that stirs up a spicy taste of the French Quarter. Enjoy!"
