Peter Briant, of New Orleans, Louisiana, received his degree in Fine Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi after studying architecture at Tulane University. For years he created architectural renderings and was involved in numerous renovation design projects in the the New Orleans area. Briant's love for his
home town and the feel he has for its everyday life, exhibits itself in his watercolors. "I feel fortunate to live in New Orleans - a place so rich in subject matter for my paintings."

Peter was named "Most Popular Artist" several times in Gambit Weekly's annual "Best of New Orleans" city wide poll. He has had 29 solo exhibits and has participated in numerous group shows. Mr. Briant was chosen to design the official 1988 Republican National Convention Fine Arts Poster. He has designed posters sponsored by American Express, The American Cancer Society, a Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center Benefit at Carnegie Hall, Arnold Palmer/Orlando Hospital, WYES Public Television, the late New York Yankees' manager Billy Martin and the United States Marine Corps Medal of Honor Recipients.
