Nancy McCardell studied ceramics and sculpturing at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., Newcomb and Delgado Colleges in New Orleans as well as the Colegio dos Artes in Brazila, Brazil. Nancy has earned the title 'fellow' in the prestigious Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi.

Nancy and her husband Jim, lived in Pass Christian, Mississippi and lost everything from Hurricane Katrina. Her molds and kiln were lost, so she is staying busy recreating her designs. They now reside in "Old Town" Bay St. Louis, Miss. near her daughter, Jenise and part-time in the Fauberg Marigny area of the French Quarter.
