Joan Bly

Joan Bly a native of Slidell, now living in Hammond, LA, began working with mosaics in the mid 1990s. After retiring from Shell Oil Co. in 1998, she was able to devote more time to this art form. The mosaic path eventually led her to pottery.

Along with her art, Joan enjoys gardening, fishing, and all the beauty of nature which surrounds her. She incorporates these loves into her art, especially her favorites; fish, frogs and flowers.

Joan has found working with clay and mosaics to be a form of meditation and therapy, which enables her to release her creativity.

Her life has truly begun after forty--forty years of working!
