Gerald Haessig moved to New Orleans in 1987 to start his career as a graphic designer/production technician for a local TV station. Almost immediately, he knew there was more to life and life in New Orleans than television. So, he started branching out and expanding his artistic side. Besides continuing design classes, Gerald has been studying glassblowing at the New Orleans School of Glassworks since 1990, pottery and clay sculpture at Earth & Fire Pottery Studio since 1994, as well as being self-taught in jewelry design utilizing Precious Metal Clay (PMC). Gerald was the first Guild certified PMC instructor in Louisiana. He teaches his own jewelry classes at Earth & Fire and is also a faculty member at the New Orleans School of Glassworks.
