Evelyn Menge, a New Orleans-based artist, started using facsimiles of these tiles for her own 'sidewalk reliefs'. Her wall sculptures are included in many noted public and private collections. Melpomene, one of her earliest works, is photographed in Randolph Delehanty's 1996 Art in the American South: Works from The Roger Ogeden Collection.

When people kept asking for smaller, more affordable street names, Evelyn came up with the idea of magnets. Within a year, she sold over 2500 magnets in local boutiques and bookstores and is now bringing her unique products to the web.
