Barbara Ame' Branson

Barbara Ame' Branson: "I am interested in exploring the relationship between play and art-making. I have been inspired by my students who are whimsical, charming, and often beautiful creations, as well as the history of doll-making, which dates back to the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans".

"After working as a commercial fashion illustrator and layout artist for six years, I earned an MFA degree from the University of New Orleans. My early years working as a fashion illustrator in downtown New Orleans department stores were deeply satisfying and that love of fabric and form is reflected in my dolls".

"I have spent the majority of my career in the education field, teaching K-12 art for 12 years and teaching at the college/university levels for another 23 years.

"I currently teach Art Appreciation for Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado via their Distance Learning Program".
